Privacy policy

Short version: this is a static site. We don't run accounts, we don't sell data, and we collect close to nothing.

What we collect

  • Your email address, only if you sign up for the newsletter — collected with an explicit consent checkbox, used only to send you the emails described on the form, never sold or rented. Submissions are stored by our form provider (Netlify Forms) until we process them into our newsletter tool. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link; to be removed at any time, you can also just contact us.
  • Standard server logs — our hosting provider (Netlify) processes IP addresses and request data to serve pages and prevent abuse, per their privacy policy.
  • Nothing else you type — there are no accounts, no comments, no tracking forms.

If this business changes hands

If HeatwaveReady or its parent business is ever sold, merged or transferred, the newsletter list may transfer with it as part of that transaction — under the same promises in this policy (newsletter use only, no selling or renting, working unsubscribe). If that happens, we'll notify subscribers by email and you can unsubscribe before or after the transfer.

Affiliate links and cookies

When you click a product link, the affiliate network (e.g. Awin, CJ, Amazon Associates) sets a cookie in your browser so the retailer knows the visit came from us. That's how we're paid — details in our disclosure. Those cookies belong to the networks and are governed by their policies; we don't see your identity, only anonymous click and commission totals.

Analytics

If we use analytics, it will be privacy-respecting aggregate counting (page views, referrers) without cross-site tracking. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA), you have rights to access or delete personal data. Since we hold essentially none, the practical answer is usually "there's nothing to delete" — but ask and we'll confirm it for you.
